Banana Plant on Raft

A Banana Plant on a Raft

Banana Plants can be found in the Plantation area of Tangaroa. When chopped down with an Axe, it will drop four Planks, and two Bananas. There's a small chance of receiving extra Bananas or even Banana Seeds when chopping down a Banana Plant. The seeds can be planted in Large Crop Plots, Advanced Large Crop Plots to grow Banana Plants on the raft. After watering, it takes the Banana Plant 12 minutes to grow into a full size plant.

A Banana Plant is felled in five chops. Every chop is predetermined as to what it yields, except for extra Bananas and Banana Seeds which have a 26.8% chance of dropping from every chop. Chopping down a Banana Tree entirely yields an average of 1.33 seeds, with a 79% chance of yielding at least one seed. Because of this, it can be considered as the best tree, since all other trees have an average seed drop rate of below 1/tree and therefore need to be "refilled" on an island.

Trivia[ | ]

  • Despite Bananas technically being a plant, the object acts much like a tree in Raft.
  • In real life, cultivated bannanas are seedless and only ever grown from cuttings. Natural bananas are filled with huge seeds, and they are almost inedible.
