Modding

Modding in Raft is done using the Raft ModLoader, which can be found on the official RaftModding webpage. Players may add mods, which are downloadable files that alter the game.

Summary

Mods are add-ons that alter the way the game can be played. Generally speaking, mods are community made additions to a game, and as such is not endorsed by the official publisher (Redbeet Interactive). However, using mods is perfectly legal and can be seen as a way for players to make their own additions to the games they play. Many of the mods available in Raft offer extra content, as well as higher degrees of customization. Do note that once a mod has been used to add more content to the save file, uninstalling the mod can make the save file unstable or even corrupt - so use at your own risk.

If any problems arise, the modding community has their own Discord server on which help can be found. Help is also available on the official Raft Discord.

Setup

1. To get started, the user must first download the ModLoader from the official download page. Note that the program may give a false-positive in Anti-Virus software. Don't worry - it's completely free of virus or malware.
2. Download the mods you wish to use. This can be done from the RaftModding Mods page.
3. Once downloaded, the mod must be put into Raft's "Mods" folder. This folder can be easily found by using the RMLLauncher.exe file (the ModLauncher). Open it, and click "Mods Folder". Then choose the following step depending on the mod.
   1. If it's a .cs file, simply insert the mod file into the folder.
   2. If it's a .zip file, extract the contents to the "Mods" folder.
4. Open the game using the ModLoader. To run mods, this must be done every time in order to load the mods.
5. Once in game, the ModLoader menu is open. Click the "Load Mod"-button for the mods you wish to use (or use the 'load all mods'-feature).
6. Play the game!
