The Plastic Hook is a tool in Raft.

Summary

The Plastic hook is the first of two items that can be used to retrieve Materials from the Ocean. This is either done by throwing the hook out into the Ocean to collect floating debris or loosening and mining, for instance, Sand, Copper, and Scrap near Islands. The Plastic Hook is superseded by the Scrap Hook, which can be thrown faster and retrieved faster when thrown, and mines Materials faster underwater.

Uses

Can be used to gather resources out of the ocean or mine nodes near islands.
The Plastic Hook takes a total of two swings to gather a resource from a node, with the full animation and gathering taking around two seconds to complete.

Durability

The Plastic Hook can hook 38 items before breaking completely. With Update 5, the player cannot hook an item and jump into the water to retrieve the items hooked thereby achieving infinite durability of the hook.

Trivia

Like the Scrap Hook, the Plastic Hook can become stuck on the players raft. To pick it back up, press the right mouse.
