In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene. If a user must be reported here, please use user, preferably as the topic subject/headline.

tl;dr version: I suggest:

(1) Either merging the Resources and Materials categories, or else clearly defining their differences.

(2) Adding a Vine Goo icon to the main page as a Resource/Material.

CSB version:

I'm new to the game, and came here to browse things I hadn't learned how to make yet. I wound up reading about Empty Bottles. It says you need Vine Goo, but there's no link to it on that page, and I hadn't heard of that before. I went back to the main page, and didn't see it under Resources either. I searched for the page, and when I found it, I was going to add an icon for it to the main page, but (understandably) I can't edit the main page. It seems like it belongs there, either as a "Resource" or (as I later learned) maybe there should be a "Materials" section added to the main page. Would an admin consider one of these?

Even though I couldn't add Vine Goo to the main page, I saw that there were category pages, so I figured I should at least add it to the Resources page. I did, but when I clicked on it to test my link, I saw that the Vine Goo page calls it a "Material", not a Resource. So I followed the link to the Materials page, and discovered that some objects are listed as Resources, others as Materials, and still others as both. And if you follow the links from the category pages, sometimes the category mentioned on the object page doesn't match the category it's listed under.

So what's the real difference between a Resource and a Material, anyway? And why do Resources get an icon section on the main page, whereas Materials don't? I'm thinking the two categories could just be converted to one. But if not, then I think the wiki needs a clear distinction between the two, a main page section for each category, and objects should be definitely defined as one or the other, but not both.

Thanks in advance!

The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify Administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

 • This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post discussions on the talk page.
 • Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
 • Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding reason for deletion request to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion.
 • Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
 • Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
 • For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.
