These rules went into effect on October 29, 2023

Raft Wiki ("Wiki") is an online source of information for the video game Raft and related subjects. The wiki can be edited by anyone and is governed through consensus among its users, based on argument-supported and civil collaboration. Raft Wiki has set of rules (or "policies"), which are expected to be followed.

General rules

These rules are the foundation for other rules. Everyone should be familiar with these rules, and you accept them by:

  1. Creating an account
  2. Contributing (= making an edit) to the wiki
G1 - Vandalism, Spam and Gibberish will not be tolerated
  • Vandalism, Spam, Gibberish or any bad-faith edits (such as removing content from pages)
  • We are very serious about this rule, and we may block vandaler without prior notice.
G2 - Contributions must comply with policies and laws
G3 - Editors should be civil and assume good-faith
  • We want to have a peaceful atmosphere on our wiki and avoid conflicts. It is unacceptable to harass, stalk, or insult anyone.
G4 - Avoid misleading the reader
  • On the wiki, we document facts, so do not add speculation, parody content, or hoaxes to articles.
    • This rule also applies to talk pages and comments. They are here for page discussion, not content discussion.
G5 - Add Official Content only
  • In addition to documenting facts, we do not host unofficial content. Do not add links to fan communities or creations.
    • Mods may only be documented as subpage of Mods article in a format Mods/Mod name. This, however, does not mean we cannot delete these pages if we deem necessary.
    • The only exception is citation of this content with a clear reason to do so.
G6 - Do not link or embed external images or videos
  • Any image not produced by Redbeet Interactive, or content created by the community with Redbeet assets (Rule G5) is violating this rule
  • Videos are allowed, as long as they are used to expand the original article. However,
    • The video must be scripted (= must not be a live-commentary)
    • Outros are allowed, intros mustn't take over entire screen and must not be too offensive
  • Please, do not add images/videos, which have been generated by AI
    • We allow images generated by AI only if this is the only way to make renders of items and entities
G7 - Do not create inappropriate or duplicative ("socks") accounts
  • Accounts with offensive, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate usernames will be blocked indefinitely.
  • Creating duplicate accounts while being blocked is strictly prohibited and we may run tools to compare accounts or range block their IP address.

Deletion rules

These rules are about when and how pages can be deleted. Some pages do not fit our wiki purpose - they are either very small stubs or created as part of vandalism:

D1 - Page violated one of the general rules
  • If pages were created that break rules G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, or G6, they may be removed without notice.
D2 - Author request
  • Author can request to delete the page (for some namespaces only)
D3 - No longer needed page, redirect or merged page link
  • Pages which are no longer needed will be deleted from Wiki. This includes "moved" and "merged" pages.
D4 - Talk page, redirects or subpage of/to deleted pages
  • These pages are commonly removed before the deleted page itself.
D5 - Duplicates
  • If the wiki contains more pages about the same topic, we delete it. The deleted page is mostly the page, that was created later.

Protection rules

Generally, we keep pages editable for everybody, so anybody (including anonymous users) can contribute to the wiki without any barriers. Sadly, there are few pages, which need to be protected. Here are few reasons to protect pages.

Type of protection Required user group to edit
No protection -
Semi-protection Autoconfirmed users (account age is at least 96 hours)
Full protection Administrators
P1 - Continual vandalism
  • Usually, we protect pages, which had excessive vandalism in the past.
  • Pages protected by this rule cannot be protected for more than a year.
P2 - Key part of the wiki
  • These include really important wiki pages (Main page, Wiki rules, etc.)
  • Typically, they are protected indefinitely
  • Pages cannot be protected for more than a month (full protection), or a year (semi-protection).

Blocking rules

There are many people who do not want to help the wiki and do the exact opposite. These users cannot continue to edit the wiki and must be blocked. The block must fall under following rules:

B1 - Performing edits which break EULA or ToS
  • If a user is performing edits which are against Raft's EULA or Fandom's Terms of Use, they can be banned up to 3 months (if anonymous) or indefinitely (if registered).
B2 - Bad-faith edits
  • If a user violates rule G1 and continues with vandalism, they will be blocked from editing indefinitely.
B3 - Inappropriate behavior
  • We do not tolerate any sort of intimidation, harassment, or personal attack. Offenders will be blocked indefinitely. (Rule G3)
B4 - Inserting false information or speculations
  • Hoaxes, misinformation's or speculations do not have place on the Wiki.
  • Block duration cannot exceed a year.
B5 - Links to community creations
  • This includes repeatably violating rule G5.
  • Block duration cannot exceed a year.
B6 - Violating copyright
  • This includes repeatably violating rule G6.
B7 - Inappropriate username
B8 - Abusing multiple accounts
  • Creating extra accounts to make bad faith edits or circumvent blocks will result in an indefinite block.

IP range block

If we detect accounts, which may come from the same person but from other IP, we can block an entire range of IP addresses.

2nd and 3rd block

If a user violates the same rule they were banned for again, the user will be blocked indefinity with no option to appeal a block on a talk page.

If a user violates any of the rules after being blocked 2 times before, we instantly block the person indefinity with no option to appeal a block on a talk page.

Questions

If you have any questions about these rules, feel free to talk about them here. If you feel you've been blocked by a mistake, you can ask about it on Raft's Discord.
