Warthog

Warthogs are enemies in Raft. They are one of multiple threats to the player.

Summary

  • Alongside Thirst, Oxygen, Hunger, Seagulls, Screecher and Sharks, Warthogs are one of the mechanics in Raft that can result in player death. Warthogs will attack the player whilst on the Large Islands by charging at them. When a Warthog is killed, its parts can be harvested by interacting with it. The Warthogs do not respawn when killed. Harvesting the corpse will provide 4 Leather and a Warthog Head.

Strategies

  • One easy way to kill the Warthog is to lure it near water. After doing so, walk to the shore and wait for it to charge at you. Retreat back into the water and when the Warthog has finished charging, it will become disoriented for a second and you will be able to stab/shoot it. This can be sped up by shooting the Warthog while it's on land before coming onto the shore to attract it's attention once more.
  • The Warthog could be killed quickly on land with a bow and metal arrows. When the Warthog has been encountered, hold the charge button for the bow and fire at it repeatedly whilst strafing and jumping around. The Warthog will be killed after firing 5 metal arrows or (unknown value) stone arrows. The arrows that have been fired into the Warthog can then be retrieved as long as the body has not been picked up yet.
